Meghalaya Police Recruitment 2016 – 1705 UB/ AB Sub- Inspector, Constable & Other Posts: Office
of the Addl. Director General of Police (TAP) and Chairman Central Recruitment Board, Meghalaya has invited applications for the recruitment of 1705 UB Sub- Inspector, AB Sub- Inspector, UB Sub- Inspector, UB Group, AB Group & Follower vacancies in Meghalaya Police. Eligible candidates apply in prescribed application format on or before 31-07-2016. Other details like age, qualification, selection process, how to apply are given below…

2. AB Sub- Inspector: 25 Posts
3. UB Group: 631 Posts
a. Unarmed Branch Constable: 463 Posts
b. Fireman: 41 Posts
c. Driver Fireman: 10 Posts
d. MPRO Operator Constable: 96 Posts
e. WPC: 23 Posts
4. AB Group: 929 Posts
a. Armed Branch Constable: 150 Posts
b. State Battalion Constable & IRBN Constable: 600 Posts
c. Handyaman Constable: 20 Posts
d. Rider Constable: 03 Posts
e. MPRO (Genral Duty) Constable): 10 Posts
f. Mechanics: 10 Posts
g. Driver Constable: 120 Posts
h. Buglers: 06 Posts
i. Armourers: 10 Posts
5. Follower Group- Follower of DEF/ State Battalian including IRBN: 20 Posts

Total No. of Posts: 1705

Age Limit: Candidates age should be 20 to 27 years for UB/ AB SIs, 18 to 21 years for UB & AB Group, 18 to 27 years for Follower Post. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for ST/ SC candidates. Age relaxation is applicable by 5 years for SC/ ST candidates.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess Degree in any Stream for UB/ AB SIs, pass 10+2 for UB Group, IX th class for AB Group, Class V for Follower Group.

How to Apply: Eligible candidates may send their applications along with all relevant documents to the Office of the DG Prisons/ Addl Director General of Police, (TRG/ AP), cum Chairman, Central Recruitment Board (CRB), Meghalaya, Shillong on or before 31-07-2016.


Last Date for Receipt of Applications: 31-07-2016.

Commandos/Constable, Driver, Mechanics, Signal/Communication Staff : 18 To 21 Years
Followers : 18 To 27 Years

Physical Measurement : Height: Male (ST including Other tribes of Meghalaya) - 162 Cm
Male (Others) - 167 Cm
Female (ST including Other tribes of Meghalaya) - 157 Cm
Female (Others) -160 Cm

Note: There shall be no measurement of chest for female candidates
