Rs. 500 and 1000 currency will be scrapped from today 8th November 2016 midnight


PM Narendra Modi has announced a very surprising news that Rupees 500 and 1000 currency will be scrapped from today 8th november 2016 midnight.


In a very surprise announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Today 8th day of November 2016, announced that from starting of 8th November midnight, Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes will no longer be legal tender.

However, fuel stations will accept the notes till 11 November, while government hospitals will also keep on accepting the currency notes for now.

Banks will be closed for general public on 9th and 10th of November 2016.
Public can deposit the currency in Post Office and bank by showing his voter id or aadhar card between 11th November to 30th December.

He also announced that there will be no change in any other form of currency exchange be it cheque, DD, payment, credit and debit cards.
This announcement will help in minimizing of corruption, black money transaction, fraud Indian currency.

As replacement for the scrapped Indian currency notes, new notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 notes will be issued soon with a small GPS chip.
